Does a D.U.I. conviction keep you from getting private college loans for school

This is not a collections or debt issue. Its an educational law issue. My guess (and it is just that since I do not handle educational law issues) is that it shouldn't. However, the private lenders can have their own requirements and you need to see what is asked on the application. If they do not ask, then they do not care about your criminal background. If they ask, then tell the truth.

You might also discuss this with the financial aid officer at your school first. They will provide a wealth of information to you.
