when am i free of it?

i owe Sears about $1,000.oo for over 1 years on a Sears Charge Card and havent made a paymest in that long due to i am poverty stricken...I was told by a friend that if i dont make any attempt to pay and they dont do anything about it , after 4 years i am free and clear of the debt..is this true? in Pa. ?
