Garnished Wages

I owe over $1500 for my daughter attending modeling school ,this was set up with a finance company. I became ill missing work and have not been able to pay them. They called me at work today threating to garnish my wages. Can they do this is Pennsylvania? Please let me know.

In Pennsylvania there is no garnishment of wages on such a debt. First you would have to sued and a judgment entered. At that point in time, the judgment can be enforced by attaching bank accounts, personal property etc. However, there will be no garnishment of wages available as a remedy to enforce the judgment. I suggest you seek legal counsel or if you can not afford legal counsel to apply assisance from Legal Aid in the County that you reside. Gerald Hershenson Esq.
