Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Garnishment

I have been told by a collection agency that my pay will be garnished for a student loan. Am I better off going to court to try and stop it, ( when I am served) or should I apply for bankruptcy since my income is low and I have so many other outstanding bills?

Re: Garnishment

I suggest you discuss this matter with a bankruptcy law expert. The laws have changed and the dischargeablity of such debts may not be an available option. In any event you should consult with legal counsel. Gerald Hershenson
