Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Good afternoon, my name is Jennifer. I have a dilemma regarding a collection agency. There's this company named Monarch Resolution that said I owe monies for a payday loan. Back in 2006 or 2007 my ex took used my name and received about $150 from a payday loan company. I had no idea this company was trying to contact me until my sister-in law who resides in Maryland sent me a text saying that this company called and said I or my lawyer has to contact them asap regarding a civil suit. The person lied to my sister in law and saidI used her for a reference and that's how they got that number. I don't even know my sister in law number nor have i ever lived w/ her. The keepcalling her even after i gave them my number. They leave threatening messages almost all the time on my voicemail. They say i owe $562 and i already made a payment of $106. I am doing more research and even went to BBB website, they aren't even listed. Did this company violate rules and

regulations? What should I do?

You should contact my office, or, another FDCPA attorney regarding these calls. They have violated the law and you do have a claim against them. The great thing about the FDCPA is that you are provided a free attorney, so to speak. The attorney will earn his/her fees from the offending collection agency, not from you.
