Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania
I am being harrassed by a debt collector who will not send my any documentation by mail to verify this loan. The only information that I have is that the loan was made to a banking institution account that I have not had. He will NOT stop calling me at work. I have told him I can't receive calls but he calls 2 times a day wanting my personal checking information which I will not give him. How do I get him to stop?

You need to contact my office or the office of another consumer attorney. A letter needs to be sent to this agency demanding that they stop. If they do not, they may be in violation of the FDCPA which would allow you to bring a claim against them.
PUT EVERYTHING IN WRITING!!! Get all info you have on this and call the PA Atty General's office and ask how to file a complaint. When they call again, try to get more info from them. Agree to send them money if they leave you alone, tell them you want to know who says you owe them, when the debt occurred, who much it was, and how much they say is owed now, who you are speaking with (they often do not use their real name) and a mailing address. Give that to the AG. Send them a letter stating you deny all the information you were given, and demand documentation in writing!!! Tell them that if they put anything on your credit history, you will sue them for defamation of credit. These people are scum. Fight back, it is the only thing that helps.
