Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania
I am currently being harrassed at work by a gentleman stating that he works for an attorney in New York. He is claiming I have a debt he is tring to collect. I requested numerous times for proof of this debt by letter, instead he emailed it to me. I did not have a bank account with the bank indicated in this letter and have no idea of this debt. I tried to find information out regarding the Law Office he claims to be with. No luck!!!! He refuses to quit calling me at work. I do not know what to do.

You asked about a debt collector calling you at work.
You should do three things. 1) Keep a log of all contacts by this debt collector, 2) Contact an attorney (me for instance) to prosecute a claim under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and 3) Tell the debt collector "I am not allowed to receive calls of this type at work. Please stop."
It doesn't matter if the debtor collector stops as the attorney you contact will then have ammunition to sue the debt collector under the FDCPA and will obtain not only statutory damages but also will obtain attorneys fees from the debt collector for violating the FDCPA.
