Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania
Identity Theft
A couple of months ago I became aware that my ex wife had taken out a half dozen credit cards in my 12 year old daughters name. She had ran up a 2,000 dollars or so on these cards. I had ran a credit check to comfirm this. This information was right and I had turned the info over to the local police. She had put in the app. that my daughter was 22yrs old. She added 10 years to her age and said that she was a singer. Nine cards gave her credit!!! Regardless local police and the DA had a meeting with her and said if she had paid them off, no charges would be filed! I had looked and she didn't pay them up in full like she had told them. A couple 30 and 60 passed due marks on the credit report. I was wondering if I should get the state attorney general of Pa in volved. Do I have a case? Where the local DA and law enforcement wrong.? I believe its like robbing a bank. Once you go through with the crime you can't think about it for a day or two and then return the money and everything is alright and not be punished at all. Thank Al

Re: Identity Theft
Why cause problems when you don't have anything to gain from it? You weren't harmed by her actions.
