Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Joint Bank Accounts and Judgments

I have a pending lawsuit for a credit card that is in my name only. I have a joint bank account with my husband. If I lose the case and get a judgment on this, can the creditor levy this joint account? All of my property, including my house is jointly owned.

While they could levy the account, your husband has his interest in the account and you would be entitlted to the statutory exemption. You should look to defend the suit or attempt to negotiate a settlement. I offer free consoltations.
