a judgement by default was entered against me. If my husband and I sell our home which is in both of our names can this affect the sell of our home?

No, it should not affect the sale provided that there is enough equity from the sale. The judgment acts as a lien. The creditor will take the equity proceeds from the sale. If there is not enough funds, this may be a problem - something will have to be worked out in such case or they will not release the lien.
