Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania
Judgments
Can you bargin with a collection agency after they have obtained a judgment against you? I have some money but to be able to pay or settle all off my debts I need to make some deals.

Re: Judgments
If it is the "collection agency" which obtained the judgment then there are usually applicable defenses. If the judgment was obtained before a Magisterial District Judge and it was less than 30 days ago, you may want to appeal, depending on the amount. If it is a very large amount it may even be worthwhile considering a Petition to Vacate the Judgment.
In any event, it is better to deal from a position of strength with debt collectors and that is usually before they obtain a judgment. Once they have a judgment there is a lot less incentive to negotiate.

If you have no real property most collection agencies will negotiate. An attorney can help by threatening to open default judgments and other means. I offer free initial consultations.
