Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania
Law on late payment policies
I was recently 1 day late on a utility payment, and therefore they put it on my credit report, telling me ''we consider one day late 30 days late''. Aren't there not 29 other days before that should happen? Is there a law somewhere stating that that is unacceptable?

Re: Law on late payment policies
I don't think that it violates the Fair Credit Reporting Act but I suggest you write to the major credit reporting companies and see if they will remove it on the basis that it is only one day late. They have some discretion and may remove it.
