Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania
Law regarding payment of debt
I know that in the past, there was a law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania stating that if a person made an attempt to pay a debt (as little as $1.00 was acceptable) that a Shut Off Notice for a utility or other service could not be issued. Is this still correct?

Re: Law regarding payment of debt
First of all, I don't think what you state has EVER been the law in Pennsylvania.
In addition, there is a new law having to do with utilities. Now, utilities may be shut off in the winter, unlike before. You have to make a payment arrangement with the utility company to avoid shutoff.
