Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

legal recourse for a cosigner

I cosigned a sallie mae loan for my son-in-law to attend school. He and my daughter divorced and he dropped out of school. I have been paying every month for this loan with no help from him. Am I able to get out of this loan obligation or obligate him to pay?

Re: legal recourse for a cosigner

Sallie Mae does not give a D__ about your situation, you signed, you shouldn't have, so you have to sue the ex-son-in-law.

You need to sue him for the funds. It is unlikely sallie mae is going to release you.

Good luck to you.
