Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Am I Liable

I received a call on my answering machine for a bill which I didnt make. Apparently the company claims its a name close to mine but not the same exact name as mine. The first name is wrong but the last name is correct. The situation is the woman who had called claims I owe the company 130.00 for services which they hadnt given to me. She said they will turn it to the magistrate & if I fail to not pay they will seize my property. Is this possible if the name is not mine but its for my physical address? What steps should I take in this? Thank you much.

Re: Am I Liable

If they take it to a Magistrate, call the Magistrate and tell them that you intend to defend and then show up on that date. You may also want to contact an attorney to sue them.
