Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

I live in NC and a company in PA owes me money for services rendered

I have submitted 6 invoices totalling 2511.30 over the past 2 months. The agreement I signed states specifically that payment will be made within 30 days of the receipt of the invoice. It has now been between 40 and 49 days on 3 of the invoices and 31, 29 and 27 days on the remaining 3. The owner of the company just changed the terms by posting on a forum to 45 days but no new agreements have been signed. I have sent a demand letter with all documentation attached, what can I do next? I do realize I won't be working for this company again and recognize that I may have to go to PA to appear in small claims court but can I get something started without actually going there in person?

There are several possible legal claims you might be able to make, but I cannot be sure from your description. You can definitely sue these people via an attorney here in Philadelphia if they are here in Philadelphia. If it's possible to fit your claim within the wage payment collection act or other laws, you may be entitled to more money. If you are interested in having us investigate this claim, we can do it for a nominal fee up to the filing of a complaint. Give our offices a call at 267.639.3105, or e-mail me at [email protected]

You may also be able to sue in NC depending on certain factors such as whether the company has done anything to subject them to NC jurisdiction. If you can sue them in NC, it probably is an advantage for you to do that. Speak with a litigation attorney in Raleigh.
