Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Loan from a relative

I was having financial difficulties in 2001. My brother lent me $10,000 at that time. At the time he said there was no hurry to pay him back. I have paid him an average of $50 per month. No loan papers were signed. He is now threatening to take me to court if I don't pay $500 a month. I cannot afford this amount. I have been paying him $50.00 a week. Does he have a case?

Re: Loan from a relative

From your description, he may not have much of a case against you, unless you stop paying altogether. You have established a course of conduct for repayment that your brother appears to have ratified by acceptance.
