Mailed Invoice

What are the laws on invoicing? I mailed an invoice to a customer (using electronic stamps) in 11/05 after some other legal battles with the customer they claim they never received the billing. I have made attempts to collect based on the other legal situation.

Mail is presumed to have been received if it was properly addressed and not returned.
