Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

married couple judgement

a married couple has a judgement that was put on in NJ in 1996, and have since moved to PA. Now divorced, husband will claim full responsibility for said judgement since it was his doings. Is there something that he can sign like a waiver that then exempts wife? And also, is the judgement attached to property as well? Wife looking to buy home. Thanks

Re: married couple judgement

The "waiver" will not stop the creditor from executing on the judgment and it will not remove the lien. The only way to have what you want to occur would be to have the original creditor agree, which they surely will not.
