Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Medical Bill With Questionable Charge

In 2003 I saw a Dentist. I had agreed to pay a certain amount based on them putting a breakdown on a piece of paper that stated what they charge, what my insurance will pay,and the difference I would pay. They told me that they would accept my insurance plus co-pay/deductible as payment in full and that's also on the financial agreement form. I paid them $150 on date of service and a month later I received a bill for $175. I called and asked why there was a bill and they said the amount they got from the ins. was less then expected and I needed to pay more. I said no, your financial agreement states you would accept my ins. + co-pay/deduct. as payment in full and I paid in excess of that. 2 months later I get another bill and it's offering a settlement for $95 so, I called and stated the same as before. 2007 I pulled my credit reports and saw a collection in the amount of $205. I called the dentist to ask why it was 205 and they said we always add collection fees and I said that's not in the finan. agree. or in writing. I sent them a letter to remove it from my reports because of the fraudulent charge. Now they sent me a letter saying that was another manager and they don't condone that but I still need to pay 175. Is this fraud?

No, it's not fraud, it's a contract dispute where you are right. As far as your credit report, you should send a letter to the credit reporting agencies explaining the circumstances and asking that it be removed.
