Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania
Mortgage company falsely misleads
I applied for a remortgage with lending tree and they refered me to a company who ran my credit and promised me in writing a loan. I sent all paperwork asked and followed up daily. I was given several emails stating that this loan had been approved. In addition the company sent me a ups today stating it was denied. This has now caused my mortage to be in forcloser. I need to know how and who i can speak with to put a law suite against them. I have several documents which state that the loan was approved and in addition the woman that represented that company told me on the phone not to pay the payment and said the process would be all wrapped up prior to the next payment due.

Re: Mortgage company falsely misleads
I strongly recommend you seek legal advice. Under the facts you set forth, you would have a difficult case to prove. You were probably denied becaue of bad credit. The potential lender did not cause you to default in your mortgage obligation. You might want to consider bankruptcy to avoid foreclosure and possibly work out a repayment plan with your current mortgage company.
