Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Paid in Full

We loaned my sister a large amount of $$ with her signing a contract at a 5%variable interest rate. She requested to pay the loan in full with her income tax check. We agreed. She sent us money orders in which one was altered and unabled to be cashed. She stated that since we cashed in the money orders and paid in full was written on the bottom of them we are not entitled to any of the rest of the $ owed to us. We want to take her to small claims court, but are unsure if we have a good case. Please help. The only thing that we agreed to was her paying back the loan with the income tax $, but not anything else.

Re: Paid in Full

I suggest you take her to small claims court. This court has up to $8,000 jurisdiction. It would be best if you have a copy of your cancelled check to present to the Court.
