Pay Day Loan - Fraud Case against me...
I received a call at work from someone asking to speak to my supervisor about a fraud case against me. When I asked what this was all about he said he needed to speak to my supervisor because it involved my employer now, too, because the case involved my IP address at work. The guy was calling from the United Investigations and something about the state attorney's office. I asked again for info and was told that there is a criminal case pending against me and I had til noon to resolve it by giving them $1150 via western union. I admit I do owe this pay day loan. Is it safe to pay it via western union to a private person??? It doesn't seem right. I set up an arrangement to pay $575 tomorrow and $575 in 2 weeks....but he insists that it must be via Western Union. Can you give me any advice about my rights and the right action I should take? Thanks!

This sounds like a scam. You may owe a debt, you may not, but they would never insist on Western Union.
The fact that they called your employer is likely an FDCPA violation which will allow you to file a lawsuit against them.

I agree with the previous response. This certainly sound like an unlawful attempt to obtain payment of of a debt. I would urege you not to respond by western union. Consult with an attorney as I do believe you have a case against this company or individual.
