Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Paying off credit card with authorized user

I was in a relationship for a year and a half. During that time, I put my boyfriend on my credit cards as an authorized user. He racked up my bills and always promised me to pay them or pay me back. Now we are broke up and Im almost $40, 000 in debt. I am now with a company that is helping me consolodate these debts. Some have been written off as a bad debt already. I am having trouble getting him to hold up on his end of the agreement on helping me pay. All I have to go by is his word, which is shady. What actions can I take to get money out of him to help pay for these debts?

Re: Paying off credit card with authorized user

You should consult with an attorney. Your ex boyfriend should sign a note or be sued. Your credit is ruined. You could file bankruptcy to discharge further liability. Never allow anyone to use your credit card or jointly purchase a motor vehicle. What happened to you is adequate reason. Gerald Hershenson Esq.
