Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania
Payments on Judgement Late / What can be taken from Home?
My wife and I co-signed a car loan a few years back and we let the car be repossessed. After some time of making inadequate levels of payment, we were taken to district court and had a judgement placed against us.
We made payments for 1 1/2 years, but have been late paying the credit union for the last 4 months. They have been patient, so far, but what happens if they decide to push the judgement before I get those payments caught up?
Wage garishments are one thing, but can they enter my home and take our personal possessions, such as my children's toys, clothes, and our beds, etc?? That's my main concern.
We are seeking to complete a joint bankruptcy in December this year and need a lawyer with strong ties to this sort of issue.
Thank you.

Bankruptcy will protect your assets. You should consult with an attorney more in depth to discuss the best way to protect your assets. I would be more than happy to discuss your legal issues.
