Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Power of Attorney-Financial

If I become Power of Attorney for my mother's financial affairs, would I be responsible for any debt that she currently has. example---credit card balances---meaning if she passes away and I am her assigned Power of Attorney for finances would I be responsible to pay these credit cards off? Any information that you can provide me with would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Power of Attorney-Financial

The power of attorney terminates upon her death.

Furthermore, the estate would be responsible for her debts, not you.

It is the executors duty to ensure that your mother debts are paid out of her estate.
