Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

my premarital debt

I have a small debt (less than $1000) that I need to pay off yet. I obtained this debt before my husband and I were married.

We are expecting a child and I am on bed rest and cannot work or the debt would be paid.

Can my husband be held responsible for this debt since it happened before we were married?

Also why was the collection agency allowed to call him and give him all the details of my debt even though it is not associated with his name in any way. I was under the understanding this was illegal.

Re: my premarital debt

It is not legal. They have committed a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Pennsylvania Fair Credit Extension Uniformity Act. You can sue them.
