Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Going under quick

I am in a bind - I followed a credit rebuilding scam that told me to use a tax id number for my ss# to rebuild my credit - things have been great for 8 years and now we refinanced our home and it was approved , now two months after settlement they are asking for copy of my ss card- it is a HUD loan - should I just ignore the call and continue to pay my mortgage- should I come clean and tell them I just didn't know it wasn't okay - I don't know what to do -I never knew it was not okay till now when I started researching it- I have good credit now but under a different number - I did what I had to do 8 years ago to save my credit after identity theft - I don't want to lose our home -my husband is primary on the loan - what can I do to fix this mess I have made - I need to save my home and my family - please help me - we have the income to pay the bill - we both do - we always pay our bills - I am scared crapless right now and feel like dying

I don't even know what catagory to list this under - should I just get a fake ss# to match my tax id - how can I fix this before it gets worse- I am such a naive stupid idoit to have put us in this position- please help me fix it

Re: Going under quick

I don't see a problem so long as you keep paying the mortgage and you didn't do anything fraudulent. You may have a lot of old unpaid bills but that's not a crime.
