Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Returned payment checks

I recently had two payments from a creditor returned to me even though they were in before the specified time. When I inquired as to why they were returned I was informed ''to prove a point.'' My question is two parts: 1) When a payment is returned is the merchandise considered paid for? and, 2)Is it some form of harassment to send payments back to ''prove a point?''

Re: Returned payment checks

I have never heard of this happening and my office has handled creditor/debtor issues for years. What type of creditor and what were the terms, your question does not provide enough detail for an answer.
