Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Served papers a month after attestment

This afternoon while I was not home, papers were served to me. My stepson was home and took the papers. He didn't have to sign for anything and all of the papers are dated July 24th. The date of attestment is July 24th and today is Aug. 17th...Do they count the 20 days as business days?? If so,, what do I do now to defend myself?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Served papers a month after attestment

You asked about what do you need to do now that you have been served.

More than likely service was valid and the date for response starts the day after service. The date is usually calculated by calendar days. You need to speak with an attorney immediately to preserve your rights and buid any defenses that you have or may need.
