Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

I had a sheriff's deputy come to my house to "inventory" my belongings dur to a judgement for an unpaid hospital bill. Is this legal? Do I have any rights? I did refuse him entry and he stated that the hospital could petition the Court of common pleas and obtain a break and enter and come into my home at any time.

What if any recourse do I have? I attempted to make arrangements and they refuse to take what I can afford to pay. Which is $50.00 monthly.

You really dont have much recourse if they follow the law. A break in bond will allow a sheriff to break into your home to take inventory and expose your assets to public sale.

The creditor/judgment holder is under no obligation to accept $50 per month. They are entitled to payment in full, unless you negotiate either a different amount or an agreed upon monthly payment.
