Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania
Out of state judgement
I live in PA and sold an amplifier on Ebay to a guy in AZ. The guy used the amp for 4 months then it quit working, so he filed in small claims in AZ. I received a court hearing date and in response sent in for a change of venue and paid a $24.00 fee to do so. The court cashed my check however the hearing still took place in AZ. They filed a $300.00 judgement against me since I did not show up. Now the plantiff says that if I do not pay they will issue a bench warrant for my arrest. Can the courts do that and what options do I have at this point.
Thanks!!!

I don't think the Court in Arizona had jurisdiction. What you would do now is contest transfer of the judgment to Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania Courts don't issue bench warrants in civil cases except for contempt of Court.
