Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Being sued in court for past credit card debt........

i'm being sued in court for a past credit card bill, the summons says it has charged off and was passed to another party to collect the debt. Is it legal for a collection agency to take me to court even though it says it was charged off and Should I retain a lawyer for my court date? Thank you.

If you lose at district court it would cost you more to appeal the judgment. Collection agnecies gnereally are not prepared for court if you defend the action with a lawyer. I offer free consultations.
