NEVER give anyone any information over the phone! Have them mail you information, and tell them you will respond to anything that is your responsibility. Dispute EVERYTHING anyone says you owe (unless you know they are accurate), and you immediately demand full back-up for any claim, with calculations for interest and penalties!!! BEFORE YOU TALK WITH THEM ABOUT ANYTHING, DEMAND the name of the company calling, the name of the person you are speaking with (or their agent ID information), and their contact information (tel. # & address). If they refuse, tell them if they won't supply that information, then they must be scamming you, and you will report them. You can ask for information about why they are calling you, but give them no info, promise them nothing, and tell them to mail you any information and demands they have, and tell them if they won't mail you the information, then they must be scamming you, and you will report them.
