Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Unpaid auto loan

I bought a car in 2003. In 2004 I lost my job and claimed bankrupcy. The finance company has never come to repo the car even though no further payments have been made. What are my options. Contract was written in Pa.

Re: Unpaid auto loan

I've run into this situation with motorcycles and ATVs. I usually tell my clients to call the company and tell them where they can pick up the vehicle. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. However, the finance company is generally still holding the title so you can't sell it to anyone. Your best option is to call the finance company and offer to pay them something for the title if they won't pick up the vehicle.

Re: Unpaid auto loan

Have you checked your credit reports recently for an unpaid judgment or other reported delinquency connected

with the car? Once you have made this determination, you will have a better idea as to what your options might be

in regard to this matter.
