unpaid bills

i had trouble paying my school bill and wrote a bad check for 6000.00 they are going to take me to the magistrate. what is going to happen?

It's hard to say. A lot depends on the Magistrate and a lot depends on whether or not you knew there were insufficient funds in the account at the time you wrote the check. Your question doesn't really give enough information to predict an outcome. You do not indicate whether they are taking you to civil court or criminal court.

If you received a scholarship check or a school loan and spent the money instead of using it for tuition, that's a different situation than if you simply lost track of your checking account balance and were a couple of hundred dollars short when the school went to deposit the check.
