unpaid loan

I took out a personal loan for my fiance to repay his IRS debt he paid for 2yrs now refused since we split. Loan is in my name he made all the payments can I make him pay the balance?

Yes. It's not a slam dunk, but there's no reason that you can't prove that he owes and was paying for the loan. Especially if he was making the payments with checks, even easier if you made none of the payments with your own checks. Depending on the amount you may need to take him to small claims court or even sue in common pleas. Sometimes a well-worded letter from an attorney can loosen up the purse strings.

Make sure you're pursuing this matter because the money is important and not simply to get even. I understand it's the principle of the matter, but the additional stress of fights like these often aren't worth the damage they take on our lives.

And stressing over an old debt is not what you want to remeber about a relationship, but it will reinforce why you are better off without him.
