Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania
My wife and I own a home and the mortgage is paid. We are struggling with our monthly income now to pay certain bills. If we cannot pay property taxes does the county put a lien on your house and will we have trouble selling the home? Also, if I cannot pay a certain credit card anymore, (currently I am sending the minimum payment which is more than half of my social security check and if it goes into a collection agency, what can they do to me?

I wonder if this is the same inquirer who submitted a nearly identical question. If so, please see that answer for all the information you seek, including a possible reverse mortgage, and priorities of payment. You are also welcome to call me if you are in or near the Delaware Valley.
I would let the credit card go into default and pay the taxes if money is tight because you do not want your home sold at a tax sale. Attorney Nahrgang has good advice. You might want to consider a reverse mortgage. Depending on the credit card debt, you might still let that go into default and just use the mortgage proceeds to help supplement your Social Security/pension income.
