Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania
My 16 year old daughter was charged with a summary offense for shop lifting.
Will this stay with her as part of her permanent record? We are supposed to go in to have her fingerprinted. What are the implications of having her fingerprints on file? Is there any way to not have her fingerprinted?

There are ways to even make the arrest disappear. This assumes she has never committed any other offense. It's call ARD.
As to the finger prints they go into a system somewhere. I'm sure mine are with the FBI by now. I was fingerprinted when I went to work for a bank back before the records were computerized. I was also fingerprinted when I needed criminal background checks to take the bar exam.
Not sure if it's a bad thing. I suppose if they fine my corpse without my id they'll be able to figure out who I was.
If you have any questions feel free to call me. The initial consultation is free.

Well the first objective is to either beat the summary charge or get her admitted into pretrial diversion, or ARD. ARD will allow her to do some probation and possibly get the charges withdrawn. Feel free to call our offices to discuss.
