Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

accessing my son's medical information

I have two teenage son's, i'm divorced. My ex-husband is the subscriber to their insurance currently. I pay ''all the medical bill's. I had been receiving multiple medical bill's for services. I logged onto the insurance site to get the reports of all the medical I had paid. My ex then filed a police report citing I accessed his personal medical information. Which I did not, only what had to do with my son's. He receives all the Explanation of Benefit's, I receive all the bill's. Did I legally have the right to access my son's information?

Re: accessing my son's medical information

Even if you directly accessed their medical records, you are a parent and entitled to do so. I don't think you have anything to worry about unless your ex is a policeman or in some public office or there was some kind of court order.
