Re: ard court in court of common pleas

Preparing for an ARD hearing will depend upon your specific county's procedures. However, usually the procedure of entering ARD is quick, painless and nonadversarial in nature.

When you arrive for the hearing, politely request information from a clerk, or a person who you may believe is a lawyer. Your question is the exact reason why I recommend that people retain lawyers to "help" them through the ARD process. Once you have a lawyer retained, not only will you feel more comfortable with what will happen at the hearing, you will feel more comfortable if something does not go as planned at the hearing. The advice and counsel of an experienced criminal defense lawyer, someone who is in the criminal courts everyday, cannot easily be replaced or substituted through an on-line Q&A. Please contact me if you have any more questions or concerns.
