Can you be arrested for cursing at a police officer?

You can be arrested for just about anything. A better question is: can you be convicted of anything for cursing at a cop. I am sure there is a situation where you could get convicted for cursing at a cop, but I can't think of any. I think you have the a right to curse, but obviously you can't curse if it cause public endagerment.

I agree generally with the other answers but it sometimes depends on the particular charge and who hears the case. Most likely you would be charged with disorderly conduct or malicious mischief or some other broad category of summary offense where the case would be heard by a District Justice (now called Magisterial District Judges) who may be retired policemen. If you get a Magisterial District Judge who is a retired cop, you may just want to pay the fine rather than go to the Court of Common Pleas.
