Assaulting an Officer

first offense, my friend was caught urinating in public outside of a party. upon reentrance of the party he was followed in by cops and grabbed and accidentally assaulted one of them almost as a natural reaciton to being grabbed from behind. this was entirely unintentional. he recieeved several citations but was not booked on scene, what is the max sentence he could get?

Re: Assaulting an Officer

Only receiving several citations is your friend's first big break. Assaulting an officer is usually a felony aggravated assault charge with serious ramifications. The situation must have been pretty clear to the cop that he did surprise your friend.

If the charges are clearly only summary level offense and he has not been nor does he have to get fingerprinted, he most likely faces $300 and/or 90 days in jail for each citation.

Call or email with additional questions if need be. Good Luck...East Stroudsburg can be a hard place to get deals.
