Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Out on bail moving to another state

I currently have two separate charges against me in Pennsylvania. One, I want to fight (felony) and in another county I have assault charges that the DA just picked up after the other party dropped the charges. Both are related to my alcohol/subsance abuse. My mother is moving and I will have no place to live in PA. also, I have family in New York City that are sober and can help me get my life together. I have court dates pending. who should I contact to let them know I am moving? Am I going to get in trouble for moving to NYC since I am out on unsecured bail. I still plan on attending all of my court dates.

A charge will only stop you from moving, if such travel is forbidden as part of your bail conditions. Start by contacting your attorney. He or she will know best how to proceed. If you do not have a lawyer, ask that one be appointed for you or better yet hire one.

Good Luck.
