Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Bar Cited For Serving Minor

I own a bar in PA. The PLCB recently sent in an underage patron to see if she would be served. She was. I am not disbuting the facts. Should I waive the hearing and plead guilty or is there any benefit in appearing before the judge?

There's always a chance that you might win if you appear. Maybe a slim chance, but a chance. It's always worth appearing even if you're the one that served her, just to tell the Judge that she looked of age. Who knows, the Judge might agree.

You should always go to the hearing. You never know what may happen in the future. If there is a resolution to the citation that doesn't involve an actual conviction then you want to try to get it. Just in case you end up being cited in the future.
