Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

bench warrant

My son's attorney informed him there is a bench warrant issued on him because he did not show up for a court date. the attorney claims they never received this information, but will now schedule a hearing to clear this up.

what will happen at this hearing? and will my son be held responsible for this mistake?

Re: bench warrant

witnesses will be called concerning the issue of whether the warrant was properly mailed and likely received. depending on the charges, the judge may just growl otherwise the Defendant may be found in contempt and sentenced to up to an additional 6 months' incarceration.

good luck
