Re: bench warrents.

In Philadelphia County there are two types of bench warrants. The first is simply called a, "bench warrant." Assuming the person is in jail as a result of being picked up on the warrant, new bail will be set within several days and it can be paid in the basement of the criminal justice center at 13th and filbert streets.

The other type of warrant is call a, "judge only bench warrant." In that case, the person will remain in custody until the judge who issued the bench warrant brings the person into their courtroom. The judge will set bail, but may also hold the person in contempt and sentence them for up to 5 months and 29 days.
