Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania
My boyfriend rented a laptop from Aaron's, but when he did, he told them it was a gift for me. I was not aware that the laptop was rented, as I received it as a gift and was told by him he paid for it outright. Now he has stopped paying the payments, and Aaron's wants the laptop back. I gave it back to him two monthes ago, and he claims he has returned it. The manager from Aaron's has been calling and showing up trying to get it back, he claims he never got the laptop back. He said if he doensn't get it back by today, he will go to the police to get a warrent against my boyfriend. He also said that I may get into trouble too, since he said he gave it to me, and the store wrote that down on the paperwork, using my name. I didn't sign any paperwork and if I knew where it was I would be glad to give it back, as I have never been in trouble before and want to put this behind me. Can I actually face legal consequences since it is not technically in my name and I didn't sign anything?

Your boyfriend is no friend. You do have exposure.
You need a lawyer. No question. It does not have to be expensive. Call me today to talk about it.
