Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania
I was in a car accident and we drove through the yard of a woman causing very little damage. She has been calling my husband asking for "compensation" we went to her home where she asked first for money(stating because my brother owns a business we must have it) , then asked for us to buy her a vehicle, and then asked us to cosign for a vehicle just because she didn't have a car or a job, and couldnt do it herself. She looked at us going through her yard as a pay day. When my husband said we would personally fix her yard she agreed realizing she wasn't getting a penny in cash or cars for a broken forsithia bush. She is now contacting our car insurance claiming thousands in damages which is totally false. Is this considered extortion, because she first asked us for money, cars, etc or she was going to go to our insurance and get a "pay check"?

However, i don't think this would likely qualify as extortion. I would just let your insurance deal with her. Save yourself the trouble.
