help with case

My boyfriend is in prison over a $40 crack sell. He's public defender isn't working on he's case, he's trying to prepare he's case. He don't have any background in law. What type of paper does he need?12-22-06 Undercover officers D&M did see a male known as ab walking north on the 1500 block of 4th. D phoned M and advised M to attempt a 40 buy of crack cocaine from him. 1934 hours M and ci C found Ab AT 15th @ 4th. Ci spoke w/ Ab and Ab asked what they were looking for. M told him a 40.Ab entered the vehicle and M to drive to 16th & 4th. M gave Ab $40 & Ab placed a baggie corner containing suspected crack in his hand. Ci asked Ab where he was heading, & Ab answered to re-up. M let Ab out at the corner of 16th and 4th where the deal had taken place. Ab exited the vehicle and past the surveillance vehicle @ crossed 15th st. M phoned D the deal was completed. We all met at, where M released said evidence to me. With my training & exp, said evid is consist with the color & phys consist. of crack. I request a warrant be issued for the arrest of Ab. 04-10-2007

I am not sure what you question is, but i think you want to know what your boyfriend should do? The answer is that if he wants to he can have a trial. Its that simple. He can tell his PD that he wants to fight the case.
